Cookie policy
This Platform uses cookies in the forms and manners described on this page.
By browsing the Platform you consent to the use of cookies in accordance with the terms and conditions described below.
Detailed information about cookies
Cookies are text files that contain packets of information that are stored on user’s computer or mobile device every time an online site is accessed through a browser. At each subsequent visit, the browser sends these cookies to the website that originated them or to another site. Cookies let sites remember some information that allows online navigation quickly and easily.
In general, cookies used by sites can be divided into three categories:
“Technical” cookies
They are necessary for the correct functioning of some areas of the site. This type of cookies includes both persistent cookies and session cookies. Without these cookies some online services cannot be provided. Therefore, they are always used, regardless of user preferences. These cookies are always sent from our domain.
Performance cookies
They collect anonymous information and allow us to understand how users interact with the site. For example, they tell us which pages are most visited, the time spent on the site, any error messages, etc. Performance cookies collect information on an aggregate and anonymous basis and are used to improve the functioning of sites and users’ browsing experience.
Functionality cookies
They allow the site to remember the users’ choices (such as, for example, font size of the text displayed, language preference, etc.) and to provide the personalized features that the user has selected. In some cases, these cookies can also be used to offer online services or to avoid re-proposing services or messages that the user has already rejected in the past.
Profiling cookies
They are used to collect information about the use of the site, to simplify its use, as well as to monitor its correct functioning, or to monitor and profile users (anonymously) during navigation, or to study web browsing or consumption habits (what they buy, what they read, etc.). The Data Controller uses this information for statistical analysis. This type of cookies is sent from the site itself or from third-party domains. These cookies will be installed only if the user has expressed his/her consent.
Duration and origin
Based on their duration, cookies can be:
- session (or temporary) cookies: they are deleted when the browser is closed;
- persistent cookies: they remain stored as files, even after the browser is closed and are deleted after a pre-established period of time.
Moreover, depending on the website or domain that generate them, cookies can be:
- first party (or proprietary): these cookies are set directly by the sites visited by the user. They are managed by the domain that generated them.
- third party: these cookies are set by a different website from the one visited by the user. They are managed by domains different from the website you are visiting.
Cookies used by the Platform
This Platform uses different types of cookies for several purposes:
- first-party technical cookies for system operation;
- third-party cookies, including profiling cookies, specifically those released by aggregate analysis tools.
The Data Controller uses Google Analytics service, provided by Google Inc., for an aggregate analysis of navigation data that allows the Platform to be improved. This tool uses cookies that are stored on user’s computer or mobile devices, with the aim of analysing the related usage. The information generated by these cookies (including anonymized IP addresses) is transmitted and stored on Google servers.
This information is used for the purpose of tracking and examining the user’s use of the site, creating reports on site activity and providing other related services.
Users who do not want these types of cookies can use this link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. At this link, you can find a component, which inhibits the system from sending information about the user’s visit. Simply install it by following the instructions, closing and reopening the browser.
Through the Platform, some services provided by third parties are made available to users, for example the connection to social networks. In particular, the Platform features social plugins that do not set cookies, but if a specific cookie is already present on the visitor’s computer or mobile device, the plugin is able to read it and use it according to its settings. Apart from these cases, the Data Controller does not share any browsing information or user data acquired through the Platform with the social networks. The collection and use of information by these third parties are regulated by their respective privacy policies to which we suggest you refer.
The user can decide to disable all cookies by changing the settings of the program used to navigate (browser). By disabling cookies, however, some of the services may not function properly and the user will not be able to access numerous features designed to optimize the browsing experience. For more information on managing or deleting browser cookies, you can consult the following paragraph.
Consent to non-essential cookies is managed through the banner and the «Cookie management» panel provided by the Acconsento service; preferences can be updated at any time via the «Update cookie preferences» link in the footer.
For more information on the processing of personal data, please read our privacy policy.
